Registry Fix is a small application with the download

takes a comparatively longer time and the display lists the number of errors
against the sections scanned. Registry Fix does not inform the user of the
severity of the errors detected, such as low, medium, or high risk.
Features Of
Registry Fix
You can access the additional features by clicking the
‘Advanced Options’ button on the top menu. These features include:
- Browser
Helper Object (BHO) Manager –Browser Helper Objects, such as Yahoo
and Google toolbar are plugged-in your Internet Explorer. These objects
are loaded every time you open your Internet Explorer. Many malware
infections are known to plant malicious BHOs in your Internet Explorer
and cause problems on your computer. Registry Fix BHO Manager enables
you to get rid of these unwanted BHOs with just a few clicks.
- Startup
Program Manager – A number of programs run every time you start your
computer. Many of these are not required for startup and just slow down
the startup process, and use up memory resources when your PC is
operational. Using Registry Fix Startup Program Manager, you can select
only those programs that you wish to run at every start up. The programs
not selected will not be removed from the system but will only not run
at startup.
- Add/Remove
Program Manager – As a user you may install and uninstall a number
of applications on your system. Some of the programs you uninstall may
still leave behind broken entities and orphan keys in the registry. You
may also have a few programs installed that you may no longer be using.
All such programs add up to the congestion in the registry of your
system. Registry Fix Add/Remove Program Manager enables you to scan
through all programs currently installed on your computer and then
enable you to completely remove the programs you don’t use.
- Full
Registry Backup Utility – This feature of the application allows you
to take a full backup of the system’s registry any time you wish to.
Through this feature you can also restore the registry to its previous
state.
Registry Fix although a good tool, does not come with
the registry de-fragmentation feature. This is an essential registry
maintenance feature because it helps you eliminate empty spaces in the
registry left behind when unwanted entities and data is removed. The feature
also helps compress the registry to speed up the registry as well as your
computer.
Our Verdict
This application has both negatives and positives.
Registry Fix has a very simple and uncomplicated user
interface, but is not visually very pleasing. The advanced features are not
visible on the user interface at first glance. It is a very lean cleaning
application with a bare minimum features. However, the tool scans the
registry well and easily removes the detected errors. Well, that is all it
does.
Registry Fix is a good application for newcomers to the
computer scene. For the advanced user it can be quite frustrating. The
option of selecting specific sections for scan is a good one in case you
need to scan only a few particular sections.
The tool has a registry backup feature, which is a
positive for the safety of your system. However, it does not have the
automatic registry backup feature. Most of the better registries cleaning
applications, these days, come with the automatic backup feature. Automatic
backups ensure the safety of your registry by providing you with an option
to revert any changes done by the registry cleaner if they cause problems to
your system.
The add remove program feature is also a good one to
get rid of unwanted applications. That sums up all the features in this
application.
Our test team feels it is a good application for the
newbies and the non-techies. Advanced users may not like Registry Fix
cleaning application.
If you just need to scan and clean your registry along
with performing a few basic PC maintenance tasks, Registry Fix is a tool to
